Nice remake. I can't help comparing it with the original though -

Compare away.

Everything behind the cockpit is greatly improved. the colours work better
on the new one with the more contained areas of light grey and the more
libreral use of dark grey. The engine pods stand out as the highlight for
me.

Me too really.  The engines are actually quite a bit bigger.  They look a
little meaner to me too.

The access method is clever, but in all honesty I think I prefer the • cockpit
in the original version. Perhaps it just looks a little sparse compared to
the old one. This could be due to all those exposed studs in an otherwise
fairly studless design. (Side note - The pilot wouldn't want to suffer • from
vertigo with that seating position. It would almost feel like there's no
ship at all. I hope the shielding's good ;)

A few factors make up the shape of the cockpit.  One is the chair.  It can
only be pushed so far forward to allow it to fold down and just line up with
the eggshell.  Also most of the weight has to be below the cockpit's axel,
in order for it to level itself as the fighter spins.  But the problem is it
can't have *too much* weight either, or the spinning sorta jams up.  This
was a problem with the first version.

Overall, though, an improvement on the original and a cool ship in it's • own
right. I'd buy one.

Thanks!

Nice to have you back.

And thanks again!
