Excellent job, Bruce. While I like the official LEGO Y-Wing, your model is
superior in a few key areas:
A) the shape of the cockpit area. LEGO's model was too flat on the bottom,
and while it's gently sloping sides are nice, your use of a slightly rounded
underside definitely makes up for the slightly jagged sides. Also, the pilot
of yours can actually sit upright instead of lying down basically. And your
ion cannons are more accurately sized.
B) the colors of the main hull. Your light gray is more authentic, though
perhaps a bit more dark grey and black here and there would be even better.
Very nice structure to the hull too, including details underneath and
behind, not just on top like LEGO did. How the devil are the screwdrivers on
the sides of the droid area holding on, anyway? #;-}>
C) the engines are just awesome. Very nice job. a little more of the "wing"
color might help to alleviate the grayness.
I also like the blue color a bit more than the yellow/gold.
