Well I just purchased the Bounty Hunter Pursuit last night, meaning I now
have every EpII set except for the Republic Gunship (sadness...you meanie
AFOLs, with your Republic Gunships and Tantive IVs ;^)  Figured I'd comment
on what I think of them so far.

First, I must agree with the problems having to do with Zams cockpit; that
is extremely annoying.  I was going to modify it (as I do all my SW sets) so
it was solid and can't "blow up", but with the unfixable cockpit it's barely
worth it.  It's a cool little vessel, I like the shape, suggests great speed
(smoother than an A-Wing).  Zam is a nice, interesting mini-fig (the light
purple is different and cool IMO) and I look foward to seeing what the
Clawdite stuff is about (well, I guess I could go to Barnes & Noble and read
the EpII graphic novel, but I'll wait.)  The Jedi's speeder has some cool
stuff in it.  The odd orange is rather nice, and I'm all over the black
astromech droid printed bodies and 2x2 printed rounds.  Am I the only one
reminded of the X-Wings gyros with this? (The front of the X-Wings engines).
Still doesn't look as good as 1x2 and 1x1 gray tiles though :)  On the
whole, the set isn't as good as I thought it would be.  The funky colors,
messed up cockpit and terrible mini-fig hurt it badly.  Yes, terrible
mini-fig...I've had this problem since the Jedi Starfighter...Obi-Wan was
done terribly.  In the past, all of the Jedi mini-figs wore serious faces
(Luke, young Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon...) but this one has a smiley and a womens
hair, making him more dippy than the official dippy Jedi Knight in the
Republic Gunship.  It's a shame because Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of my favorite
characters, but in my mind there just isn't an Lego EpII representation of
him.  He doesn't even just have hair problems that I can cover with a brown
hood because of the yucky smile.  And even if I could, with the only sets
containing brown hoods being the Gungan Sub and Gunship, it'd be an
undertaking.  I also noticed a mistake with him in the instructions to
7133...the instructions show him with the headset he has in the Jedi
Starfighter (on an unrelated note.)

I must say that over the past few years I have been extremely dissapointed
with what they have been doing with Star Wars mini-figs.  The normal old
male hairpiece just doesn't always work.  It is at a terrible low with how
they accomplish the braids for young Obi-Wan and teenage Anakin.  And you
can't even use the torsos for other things because of the silly little
braids.  I am quite annoyed by how they can make special Qui-Gon hairpieces
and all sorts of other zany stuff for native americans and etc. but can't
properly treat their Star Wars license.  They should have made a "Jedi
Padawan haircut" piece a few years ago and would still be using it today.
Couple this with recent quality problems, mostly on printed pieces, and
you've got a guy even more annoyed by the un-snowspeeder-like price per
pieces (can't we get a set like that again?  Well, they had a good chance
with the AT-ST...).

Whoo, I was gonna say some stuff about the other sets, but it appears this
has turned into a rant and I think I've typed enough for now...
