How available was the falcon when it first came out? Here in australia it has been very hard to find right from the start. (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.starwars)

I am not so much interested in the set as such, more in legos business practices regarding it (and other large starwars sets) which in australia have all been hard to find. (23 years ago, 12-Sep-01, to lugnet.starwars)
