Wow, Shaun, that thing is great!  And I really like the diorama
you made.  The large tree with the brown "vines" is particularly
cool.

Thanks Kyle.  Actually, the vine concept was courtesy of Suzanne Rich and Joe
Comeau, who put together some wonderful looking gnarly trees for our most
recent Brikwars battle.

Curious question: does anyone know how the crew are supposed
to get up to and down from the hatch?  Other than by jumping
out of a tree I mean.

I think there are supposed to be a series of hand/footholds up the legs and
cabin to climb.  While in an imperial facility, though, I imagine they make use
of some sort of convenient superstructure though, as they do for getting
into/out of tie fighters.  Those imperials sure love superstructures ....

Silly question: if you try to squeeze the head between your
thumb and forefinger, will it smoosh just like in the movie?  ;]

This is probably worth mentioning - I've been pleasantly surprised by how
robust it is ... it looks, on close inspection, like it should spontaneously
disassemble on its own on occasion.  Yet it has managed to survive a number of
topples and faceplants, and at least one drop from about 2 feet, with only a
couple pieces that are easily replaced falling off.

But to answer your question more accurately, if one were to squeeze the sides
hard enough (the side armor plates would probably distribute much of the force
at first), the sides would indeed eventually cave in :D

However, I much prefer scenes where the Ewok is under the foot of the AT-ST,
rather than sending logs to crush its head.  Looks like 2002 might allow me
such an outlet, too ... ooh la la!
