Ok, I don't know everyone's budget out there, but *I* just might buy a Death
Star for $500.  Ok, so maybe my wife would kill me, but the Death Star would
make everyone at work quite envious! :)

You know, this quote really bugged me.

Clearly, Tim was not asking for a huge "Death Star" playset that made a
minifig-scale complete Death Star.  Kenner/Hasbro have produced *many* playsets
from the Death Star settings- there's the four-story grandaddy from the
original line, the two-piece "Death Star World" from the short-lived
Micro-series (with metal figures, if that jars your memory), the multiple
playsets from the more recent Power of the Force line... there are lots of
ways, lots of sizes, lots of *solutions* to making a Death Star playset.

So, either the rep was giving a flip answer and playing dumb, or he's
remarkably dense and detached from the process of designing these toys.

I'm not sure which quality would make him a worse interviewee.

Anyway, LEGO can choose all they want to not to make a Death Star playset.  I
don't care!  If I really want to have a Death Star playset, I'll build one
myself... that's the beauty of LEGO.

<Me too post>

I have to agree.  The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was the
old Kenner playset with the little green monster and the foam garbage stuff.
Clearly we don't need the whole planet or a docking station for the Falcon
or Tyderium.  Well, ok, we do need them and it would be nice but some kind
of a diorama would work.

who still has all of his original playsets :)
