Really?  Cool!  I deep-sixed my original idea for the Sci-Fi when I saw rule • 3
- original models only.

Woohoo!  Now, back to the scale Battlestar!

That rule was intended to stop people from stealing ideas from other internet
builders.  This is all in fun, so do what you please.  You might have noticed
we put in a section stating that we retain the freedom to create • subcategories.
We did that so all models could be judged fairly.  With the recent release of
Star Wars Legos, I figured we would get a lot of reproductions from the two
trilogies and I think that is totally cool (Floridian beach accent coming • out).
I might just create a category for best Star Wars reproduction or something.
No big deal... the point is to have a good time and inspire all of you guys to
build some awsome stuff.

I suppose I'm am being mildly off-topic, but I've gotten so hyped over the
upcoming Battlestar Galactica movie that I've got BG on the brain :)
I've built a microfig scale Battlestar, which is actually making me figure out
how to Ldraw, and will use that, several photos, and a BG blueprints book to
design a scale model, probably about 2 or 2 1/2 feet long, depending on how
much grey I have by then.  Expect to see an entry. :)

OBSW: Lucasfilm tried to sue BG for similarities to SW, but it was ruled that
the two series were quite disimilar in theme and content.  As an aside, before
BG went into production, there was a list of things they weren't allowed to do
because it would be "SW-esque" - blaster bolts, among others.
