[rant warning!!]

That is the only thing I have to disagree with.  Mini-fig 3 packs are evil.  I
refuse to waste money on 3 useless stands and printed cards.  Lego should
bring back the 5 packs with equipment.  Rock raiders was a poor juniorized
theme but it had the best mini-fig pack since the early 90s.  Those collecter
3 packs are crap. I pity anyone desperate enough to waste money on them. I
see them as the epitomy of sets truly deserving of death by fire.

I disagree with you on this.  I don't see the 3-packs as being replacements
for the 5-packs.  As far as I can tell, Lego is still going to produce the 5
packs.  I actually bought several extras of the Battledroids and Scouts +
Chewie 3-packs, so I could have extra stands to put other SW minifigs on.
The stands are really quite cool IMO.  I agree that the cards are kind of
stupid, that's why none of my minifig stands have cards on 'em.  I
personally hope to see some more of the 3-pack collecters sets, hopefully
with some new SW minifigs that haven't been made before.

While I bought the 3-packs (stinking compulsive behavior), I do think that
5-packs of Stormtroopers would rock!  These are arguably the most common
characters in the SW movies, and we currently have exactly 1 set to get
them, and there's only 1 per set!  I'm really glad that the "Empire Struck
Back" this year, but more of the common, get killed over and over characters
should be included.

(...) I wasn't going to buy the 3-packs (I hate mailorder) but when I saw them at the Mall of America (while on vacation in Minnesota) I just had to get 'em. I do agree with you though, a Stormtrooper 5 pack would be awesome. As it stands now I need (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.starwars)
