Hello all,
I have been working on this one for a while. Several years of work and nearly
finished, but though I would post it now and just update the pictures as i
finish it. This is what I think a park would be if it were built on mars.
Although there are section of the base plate missing, and the "park" extends
back to the distance, it does fit the moonbase standards.
A little bit of back story:
'Red Rock Mars: Mars first and best place to go to experience the greenery'
It was Built into a series of caves that form part of the Martian habitat
network (Picture this as but one of the many entrances to a large cave network).
Strung throughout are "non-traditional" light for lighting the cavern.
And so I present: RED ROCK MARS TERA PARK

When you name it Dark Side of the Moonbase and suggest to turn on some music,
I thought it would be Pink Floyd music, and your MOC a tribute to Rick Wright,
keyboard player of the band, who recently went away (R.I.P)
Anyway, a nice MOC. Cant say I have seen a mix of Star Wars and ordinary Space
minifigs before.

TexLUG was invited to participate at Maker Faire 2008 in Austin, Texas this past
weekend. Were not the first LUG to display at Maker Faire, but this was our
first time, and we walked away with not one but two Editors Choice awards for
our display/booth.
We were given a huge area to work with, which we filled with two displays - a
Space/Moonbase and a Town/Train (with tall ships). We also had two areas for
kids to come and build, one filled with Duplo, the other with regular System.
My pictures can be found here:

We had a lot of fun and we hope that well be invited back next year.

It has occured to me that between the Moonbase project, the Life on Mars and
currently Mars Mission that The LEGO Group would have taken the hint and
re-released the Crater baseplates from the old Space theme.

Awww, sorry to disappoint you there. That is an excellent idea though as I
am a huge Floyd fan. :-) I was thinking more along the lines of dark =
sinister. Dark Side of the Moonbase just happened to be a catchy play on
words. Glad you liked it!

Being a Rock Music fan myself, one (of many) detail I like with your moc is of
course the axes of the Rock band =)
