    Ornithopter —Bryan Hodges
Announcing my newest MOC... an Ornithopter from Dune. Not only is this model my first non-Star Wars MOC that I'm sharing with the world, it's also the first (and probably last) one that I've created entirely in MLCad, no real life building involved. (...) (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Ornithopter —Bryan Hodges
(...) Glad you liked it, it took a few hours to "construct" but that's only because I'm not very proficient with MLCad yet (though I'm getting there... :) The only reason I made it gray was because I thought it was more appropriate. I'll render a (...) (24 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

(...) Nice model,it's about the only thing they did a good job with in that miniseries. It was such a let down. Now how about building a guild highliner. C ya Mike B (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Ornithopter —Bryan Hodges
(...) Thanks... I actually thought they did a pretty good job with that miniseries... it was certainly better than the Lynch film IMO. Of course, I have yet to read the books so there could very well be some things that should be there that aren't. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Ornithopter —Jonathan Mizner
(...) (snip) (...) Cool! Neat cockpit, I never would have imagined that could hold 4 people. One question, what is the definition of an Ornitithopter? I have seen some Magic (the CCG) cards called Ornithopter, but they would be Technic models if (...) (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Ornithopter —Jon Palmer
I'm too lazy to get up and find the real definition but I'm positive this is a word to describe a vehicle that flies by "flapping" its wings. -Jon (...) some (...) models! (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Ornithopter —Jon Palmer
Gaaaa. You beat meee...eee. : ) Heh... my fault I didn't get off my butt and make one. I think it looks really good. Did the 'thopters in the mini series have fans on the two flaps? Either way I liked the way they were portraied in this version of (...) (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

(...) fans (...) Yup, on TV they had large fans/rotors there. -- -Bones- = (URL) = NecroBones Enterprises (24 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Ornithopter —Bryan Hodges
(...) Yeah, they ones from the miniseries did have large fans in the middle of the two flaps. I couldn't think of a good way to do 'em however so I left 'em out. -Bryan (URL) (24 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.space)
