The first one is a microfig scale Battle Star (Galactica ?) It doesn't
have a lot of detail yet, but I'm pretty happy with the basic shape of the
hull.

The second one is a heavy gunboat. I was experimenting with engine
attachment schemes and forward hull shapes. It turned out so *UGLY* that I
kinda like it : ) It's got 8 laser cannon and 14 forward firing missile
tubes. These ships don't handle very well due to the fact that they only
have a single thrust vectoring ion engine, but they're heavily armored and
well suited to point-blank slug matches with larger vessels. One
interesting tactic employed by captains of these gunboats is to ram an
enemy's flank at full speed thus breeching it's armor and embedding the
gunship's forward hull well inside the superstructure of the target vessel.
Then one or two volleys from the missile tubes is all it takes to cripple
even the biggest capital ships. Occasionally the gunboat is disabled or
destroyed during this attack, but tactically it's often worth the risk.

| I love the Battlestar, now where were those Cylons in thier BaseStar? :-) The Gunboat reminds me of a Skipray Blastboat. Griffon Industries 'All I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by...' Rick (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.space)
