Not that different....

Basically, I asked myself “What would happen if Jules Verne had written Star Wars?” This is it, the Steam Wing.

It’s good although I do find the width a little excessive out towards the nose. Seems that bit must be hard to get right since I was never happy with my nose design and I’m not sold on Mike Psiaki’s one either.

You’re right of course. I knew of both yours and Mike’s WW2 era X-Wings, and of Eric Poulton’s blog as well. Since this text was cut’n’pasted from the FBTB entry post, it is therefore quite different from all of the other “evolution” entries currently on FBTB.

As for the nose, it is quite chunky, yes. This model is by no means as smooth and streamlined as the official X-Wing. But it has an enormous steam boiler between the wings! What do you expect?
