I have finally set up a page for my moonbase project that originally
appeared at Brickfest 2004.

Very nice board- I love the hoses and other greebling on the surface! The
trans blue works very well for black squares. The interior is well done as
well, and the railings are great.

Thanks, I enjoyed building it, Trying to find different peices that could fit in
the one stud gap in the board was quite a challenge.

While the pieces look nice, I cant imagine trying to actually play with
them. The kings, queens, and pawns are fairly easy to identify. However, the
other pieces all look way too similar to each other, with no logical
connection to traditional chess icons. I cant think of a good way to do it
if you want to have them correspond to official Lego designs, though.

Yeah, Trying to differentiate the pieces is a bit of an issue. The way I got
around this was to build the bases at different heights Rooks are two plates off
the ground, King and Queen are 3 bricks off of the ground.
