This is generally not a valid url. But since php uses the information posted
after the filename to pass varaibles from page to page, this url gives a valid
document. In his site, he uses relative paths such as "2004/index.php" this is
perfectly valid, simply meaning the current url-filename+2004/index.php. But
since that backslash is on the end of the first url, the browser thinks
index.php/ is a directory, not a file, and therefore does not remove the
index.php/ from the destination url.

Try www.artships.com/index.php, and the links work fine.

A coincidence?  Maybe.  ;^)
