Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) snip (...) Not sure about hundreds, but I'll get some more. (...) I actually have some of the command sphere and a previous version of the spine done in LDraw. Unfortunately MLCAD gets awefully slow when you start working with a large model. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) It's beautiful! I have the Blue Danube Waltz drifting thru my mind right now just from looking at it. Love the pods, love the 'communication array', basically the entire model! It's fantastic. HAL, open the pod bay doors.. I can't do that, (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 2001 question

(...) Thank you very much for the quick answer. Dave! (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: P-38 Contest Entry: SA-380 Dragonfly MOC

(...) The blue 1x3x12 wedges really give the fuselage a nice smooth shape that blends well from the nose to the "wings". I really was aiming for a very P-38 like design, but not exactly like a P-38. I am happy with the way it turned out. (...) Not (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest Entry: SA-380 Dragonfly MOC

(...) Thanks for taking time to comment. I have always been inspired by your work. It would not take too much imagination to convert this desigin into an evolved y-wing type of ship. Actually, a y-wing MOC itself could have been a contest entry in (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Yeah, to be honest I'm not really sure why I added the I. Various references call it the Discovery, Discovery One or Discovery I. Throughout the novel 2001 it's simply referred to as the Discovery and the second ship is referred to as the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 2001 question

(...) I'm guessing you're talking about the one Tim Drage and Tony Mines of Spite Your Face productions did: (URL) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: The Slick Brick

(...) I don't post here often, but I loved this MOC. I love the methods you used to achieve studlessness (SNOT instead of tiles). I was digging it through the first 12 pictures, but number 13, the landing gear, is what got me to reply. The way it is (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  2001 question

In the wake of Jason's ultracool Discovery MOC, I'm reminded of a LEGO film version of (at least part of) 2001. A quick search proved unsucessful for me, but I'm sure that one of my savvy LUGNET pals can find it easily. Thanks for the help! Dave! (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) OK, now that I think about it, I don't think the ship in 2001 carried the Roman numeral I. I may be mistaken, but hey, it's the only flaw I can find to pick at... Like I said before, this thing is GREAT (ok, I didn't say that before). James (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
