Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
Hey all. I just dreamed up a small MOC today and I've finished it and uploaded it to my website. (URL) let me know what you think! -JHK (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space) !

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Steve Runnels
(...) Nice work, but it needs a floating head. --(URL) SteveR> (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —David Laswell
(...) You know, the 2x2 hollow cylinder fits nicely around a minifig head, even if it's wearing a basic male or straight, shoulder-length female hair piece... (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) The Outer Rim engineers are considering to affix one once a supply of robot arms is delivered. I don't have any. Really! :( -JHK (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Jon Palmer
(...) Dude I love it! I wanna make a little probish grabby space thing now. And can anyone point out where that half cylinder has ever been used in a posted MOC before in that configuration? I'm thinkin' no. Awesome. (URL) [ j o n ] (URL) zemi.net> (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Hey, thanks! I've had that idea floating around for a while and I've made some unpublished MOCs using it, but for this idea I thought it would work well and used it. It can be a neat piece if used right. Yeah, little probish grabby space (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Geordan Hankinson
Hey that's awesome! Definitely fits the space tug bill, it looks sweet. Like Jon said, that canopy is cool. I like the engine too, nice work! -Geordan (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Thanks. I've always wanted to make a space tug for a while, and even though this is too small to be a dedicated space tug I think it fits neatly into the 'shipyard assistance' idea. (...) I found the cockpit piece and the engine cylinder (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Ley Ward
(...) Excellent. Way to bring some noise. That canopy is inspired. Peace and seafood, Professor Whateverly (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Mmm. Seafood. I just had some flounder tonight... thanks for the response. -JHK (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Leonard Hoffman
(...) NO fricking fair is what I think. you're only fourteen and building better than i do now. no fricking fair. the good side is, that im close enough geographically to actually be able to see this thing. my next big ship might need something like (...)          Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Yeah. You build the big stuff and I'll make the little stuff. Works- this is about the biggest I can build now without tearing my 2 year old junk ship apart, and that'll never happen. Thanks! Hope to see you someday... -JHK (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Daniel Rubin
(...) Oooh, very nice! Do you have any pics with a minifig in the cockpit, so we can see how roomy it is? -Dan Rubin (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) I might try adding one later today- although my image display script doesn't like having new stuff added. I'll figure it out, though. But its not very roomy. Barely enough space for the pilot to lay down on his stomach and manipulate the two (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Daniel Rubin
(...) That seems like it's the way it should be. You would expect a craft like this to be bare-bones, it's not like it's a long-range craft or anything. It's not as if crane or forklift cabs are luxurious either. -Dan Rubin (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Mike Thorn
(...) I like it. (URL) It> reminds me of this camera: (URL) Good work. -Mike (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Yah now, I was just looking at that camera's review over at DPreview just before I built the shrimp... coincidence? :) -JHK (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Mike Thorn
(...) If you end up buying it, let me know if you like it. -Mike (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Paul Baulch
(...) Nice work, John! I would prefer a version with a couple of 1x4 hazard tiles on top, though, just to liven it up a bit. Other than that I don't think I'd change a thing. Except the tiles in the hatch underside in the last image need (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Yeah, the tiles probably do need straightening- I always chide myself for having unaligned tiles and small gaps and stuff overlooked in my hurry to photograph. I thought about adding a danger tile, but I only have one and there wasn't any (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Ryan Wood
(...) Your moc-building talents consistently astound me. This creation is small, creative, and groovy. Not my favorite thing you've ever made, but still neat. I'm really jealous of the way you craft your thingies and they just look perfect. And the (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —John Henry Kruer
(...) Yeah- I was going for the small and groovey thing. Not sure it was that creative, but hey, I'm my worst judge. (...) Just perfect? Blame that on the photography. Many of the things I build have parts that are so non-perfect it would astound (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Nathan Wells
(...) And you said there was no traffic in .space! ;) Awesome MOC! It proves tiny ships can be just as good (if not better) than bigger ships! (URL) Nathan Wells (URL) "I'm a castle fan who builds spaceships, got a problem with that?" - Me, during a (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Small moc- the SHRIMP —Daniel Rubin
In lugnet.space, Nathan Wells wrote: snip (...) snip It has to do with Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, by measuring the level of traffic in .space! he had an effect on that very traffic. Clearly, he's some sort of boy genius! -Dan Rubin (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
