You are correct, good catch, and ever so thoughtful of you to point out my
error, I'll have to return the favor at the earliest opportunity. I'm sure one
will come along very soon.
Hasty typing on my part, not lack of knowledge, since my sister-in-law was there
for the Olympics, and rode the Shinkasen that you speak of from Tokyo to
Nagano...
Regarding the snow tie in, it is true, the Japanese are very snow-happy. When I
was arranging my Narita Express tickets at a JR station in Shinjuku I was taken
by how many ski trip promotional posters there were in the lobby. Many simply
said "we want SNOW!" and had a picture of some bucolic scene.
As to the relative age of the find (mentioned by Mark), I never said it hadn't
been on Brickshelf very long, just that I had not seen it discussed here before,
and in a previous post I did explain why a search for it failed to turn up the
previous thread.
