Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) Bicentennial Man was (not faithfully) adapted from Asimov's short story of the same name, as well as his novel The Positronic Man. Supposedly there are talks of doing something with Asimov's Foundation series, and I Robot is currently filming (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: StudWars presents : .castle vs. .space !!!

(...) snip (...) (URL) pretty excited about this too, but it's probably a few years away from the screen. It looks like they've only aquired the right's to Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, and combining them to make one film. Um. Getting a bit OT. (...)   Re: StudWars presents : .castle vs. .space !!!

(...) Ender's Game?!?!? Ooh, ooh! *drool* Of course, they've been "going to do" something with Pern for years now, and it keeps falling to the wayside. Besides, the problem they'd have with doing the Ender series is that they wouldn't need to get (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Check out our latest MOC from our (3 URLs) The impending spread of the Clone Wars to the Outer Rim territories had the Republic looking for a breed of faster, lighter cruise ships that can be sent in advance for reconnaisance missions.   Re: Stacked connection points on moonbase standard?

(...) Not if you want to be able to run ground-level track on Moonbase-compliant baseplates. If you don't mind running elevated Monorail, there's no reason why you can't just drop the tracks to 7/17/27/etc. off the ground. (...) That would be the (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: StudWars presents : .castle vs. .space !!!

(...) I don't think I've ever personally experienced that. Maybe it's a result of coming from a more enlightened geekdom that embraces both (and sometimes combines them). Might come from growing up on Pern novels (which, ironically, the local (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Stacked connection points on moonbase standard?

(...) I think the monorail platform had a lot to do with the 10, 20, 30 etc standard. I agree that by doing that standard, there is a big step up for the monorail sled. Hmm...wonder if there's any way to recess that rail... but you could always (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: StudWars presents : .castle vs. .space !!!

(...) I can explain it. It derives from the literary rivalry between fantasy and sci-fi. The fantasy nerds and sci-fi nerds have always each been claiming superiority over the others' literary genre. I remember the second-last time I bought a sci-fi (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Stacked connection points on moonbase standard?

(...) The floors do all sit at 10-brick intervals according to the revision discussion from last year. That does mean that two stacked layers would need 4 bricks and 1 plate spacing if they maintain the same interior dimensions as the hallway (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)
