about 6 months back at a car boot sale I picked up a large box of lego for £30.
What really caught my eye was the fact it contained a ready built 6274 -
carabean clipper and ready built 6276 - eldorado fortress, both with
instructions but no box. As they were ready built I could see they were
virtually complete.
This in itself was worth the £30.

However, the rest of the big box contained a right mixture of stuff with no
instructions, so I basically just cleaned it and sorted it to use the pieces.

Then today, I got the Ultimate Lego Book and reading through I noticed the
LL928 on the side of the spaceship that was shown in the timeline as being
part of the original space series. I knew I had the bricks with LL928 on them
as I had just used some bricks with LL918 on the side in another model I
created, I also could see from the picture I had most of the other pieces too.
I also had the crater plates.

So I did the research on lugnet, sorted out the peices and low and behold, I
realised I had the following classic space virtually complete
- 493/926 space command centre
- 918 space transport
- 497/928 galaxy explorer

No boxes or instructions, but though I havent built them yet, most of the
pieces seem to be there.

And to think they were sat in my boxes unknown for 6 months. I knew they were
space, but I never bothered trying to find out what. It never occured to me
the numbers on the bricks might be the numbers of the sets (dugh!)

regards
lawrence
