Cool Jeff!  I pictured the flycycle in a totally different way, but a neat
interpretation nonetheless.  After your initial post I considered doing a
flycycle myself, but I couldn't think of a way to express the field
encircling the pilot.

(...) It's an interesting exercise to build something based on a short text description. I didn't even consider incorporating the sonic fold... it would be quite a challange to represent a large, spherical, transparent field out of Lego! Here are (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.space)
