  has anyone ever made a lego model of NCC-1701D
 
aka Enterprise-D, found in Star Trek TNG & Star Trek Generations I am curious about this one since its the largest of all the enterprise ships (I think...) (23 years ago, 12-May-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) If you're talking about a scale model, i don't think that would be possible (if it is, it would take an ENOURMOUS amount of work and LEGOs) because it would be 60 32x32 baseplates long, or 50 feet IRL. Which, if stood on end, would be five (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) The subject came up a zillion or so years ago on rec.toys.lego. Someone claimed to had built one. Minifig scale being something of a contradiction of terms, I suspect you could fudge those numbers a bit, but you're still talking colossal. It (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) What about doing one at about the size of, say, the large MF mocks people have done (ben flecks I think did one of them). Would using the size of the "saucer" on one of those for the size of the saucer section then getting the proportions from (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) I have been playing with the thought of making a bridge for a while myself, and I see lots of 'interesting challenges' to be addressed besides the wishbone railing. (...) This actually isn't all that tough: cheat. I used 22.5 degree roof tiles to build the sloped section. No studs there, but at least everything lines up. (...) The transporter room is also nice in that it's not all tan. :) Engineering would be (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.space)
