What I liked:
- good interior, cool seats

I think it needs more seats!  If you have two more helicopter windsheilds,
maybe try extending it 4 studs?

What I didn't like and think can be improved:
- the Technic skis just don't look right (IMO)

Agreed...they're not beefy enough.  Perhaps doubling up the skis would make
it look better?  Or use surfboards, pod racer vane thingies, or those 1x2
bricks with hole and ski (forklift fork, etc)

- too many preprinted element (IMO)

I'm more impressed by 3D greeblies vs. printed greeblies, but printed parts
are a good way to preserve smoothness while adding detail.  Recessed widgets
(so that they're flush with the smooth surface) would be even cooler.

- too many different coloured trans elements used, throws off "unity"

As long as you use different colors for different functions and don't
overuse trans parts, I think multiple colors works fine.

- grey and white don't go well together (IMHO!) ;-)

Gray and white work fine for a light colored, unimposing spaceship.  What
else would you use if you were trying to build a more exact copy of the
moonbus?  Gray by itself is too dark, and white by itself often looks too
sterile.

(...) i think both kinds of greeblies have their place, i.e. an Alien(movie) type ship would be very 3d greebly, but for a NASA style or a SydMead kind of sleek moc you'd want interest but smooth surfaces, thus the printed pieces it just depends on (...) (...) thx for the details (...) thx for the opinions, i like hearing them (fyi to others as well) my responses: - i like the preprinted elements and recently decided to use them more often :-) - i used to worry about the 'color' value of trans (...) (23 years ago, 3-Sep-01, to lugnet.space)
