Berkey was doing this a LONG time ago--National Geographic's _Our Universe_ of the 1970s had a Berkey on the cover, and they made school binders and folders with Berkeys on them. | | | | | (...) I have a book called Our Universe, published back in the 80's (I think it was World Book, or Nat'l Geo) that has cover art by Berkey. | | | | | Good stuff! I was fortunate to find his book, Painted Space, in a flea market of all places for $2 about 4 years ago. Its an amazing book. | | | | This brings something else to mind... in '87 or so, I checked out a book, "EarthBase 2000" or "SpaceBase 3000" (or some permutation of these terms) that was nothing but spaceship designs, with a cool SF military history behind them. | | | | (...) yep, got those, i'll 'splain... there were 2 hardback books published: SpaceCraft 2000-2100 A.D. and Great Space Battles Stewart Cowley compiled the art by many artists and added pages and pages of text about the ships and scenes depicted (...)
