Re: Inspirational pics added to my BShelf —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Ditto. Berkey was doing this a LONG time ago--National Geographic's _Our Universe_ of the 1970s had a Berkey on the cover, and they made school binders and folders with Berkeys on them. Some of those images may be 30 years old! They're still (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: Inspirational pics added to my BShelf —Mark Sandlin
(...) I have a book called Our Universe, published back in the 80's (I think it was World Book, or Nat'l Geo) that has cover art by Berkey. It's a rather large spacecraft that has some kind of globe partially exposed from beneath it. Very cool. :^) (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

(...) Jinx! Buy me a coke (or a Pepsi, as you will). :D It's interesting how well his work, and _Our Universe,_ have aged. I have a very ratty first-edition back in Michigan that's older than you, Mark. uphill (both ways), LFB (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: Inspirational pics added to my BShelf —Jon Palmer
Good stuff! I was fortunate to find his book, Painted Space, in a flea market of all places for $2 about 4 years ago. Its an amazing book. I also have some Berkey trading cards stashed away somewhere. I agree with Lindsay about how well his work has (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Hey all you spacers! This is a great topic that gets revisted about once a year or so. Inspiration comes from all sorts of places, but a great source is SciFi book covers and the like.         Re: Inspirational pics added to my BShelf —Peter Guenther
This brings something else to mind... in '87 or so, I checked out a book, "EarthBase 2000" or "SpaceBase 3000" (or some permutation of these terms) that was nothing but spaceship designs, with a cool SF military history behind them. I have never (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)
