  Re: MOC PCS Shuttle

(...) Daniel- This is a great vessel! Reads as "utility" to me and I think the form suits it well. Neat cockpit configuration and I think the landing pads are sweet (haven't seen that yet). I like the subtle greeblies and the juxtaposed differing (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Bram- What a superb study break! I love it and would very much like to have it sitting on my desk. I really like the overall form, the negative space (as Joe said: "The landing gear is a nice touch, too, but the coolest thing is the open area (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: MOC PCS Shuttle

(...) Hi there Daniel, Well I have to congratulate you on this model. You have created some very nice curved lines and an intersting canopy arrangement - although the cockpit is looking a bit sparse on the inside. I love the landing gear and you (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) It seems like you might be able to fit the little space levers on the studs on the doors, allowing for a throttle and a steering joystick. Pretty cook design, I really like it overall. Daniel Rubin (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Thanks. (...) I didn't want to use my normal white background for a white MOC, so I grabbed the first large piece of colored paper I found in my house. Unfortunately, the fibers in that paper kind of stand out, especially since the paper has (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Glad you liked it! (...) I know. That's one thing I'm not really happy about. It was difficult enough getting a fig to fit inside that tiny cockpit, so I guess the controls are "hidden" in the studs on top of the car doors... If anyone has a (...)   Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Thanks! The circle is a fun form to try to work with, especially since it's a bit of a challenge working with primarily rectangular parts. --Bram (2 URLs) Bram Lambrecht (URL) www.bldesign.org> (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Thanks! (...) Familiarity with the 5 plates to 2 studs really helps here. The only SNOT parts I used were about 24 of these: 4 of these: and 4 of these: [LDrawPart 6541:15] [LDrawPart 4081b:15] [LDrawPart 4070:15] (...) It was really difficult (...)   MOC PCS Shuttle

Hello all, I'm mostly a lurker around here, but I met most of you at Brickfest. Anyways, I designed this PCS styled shuttle in MLCAD during my torts class for the past few weeks, and finally got it put together and photographed. The magnets on top (...) Very innovative design, Bram. Way cool! Thanks for introducing a new perspective. Ashley (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Swweet! That's really cool, Bram. The whole ship has a really cool shape, and the color scheme, dark red and white, works well. And the flaps and the landing gear is really cool, especially for such a thin craft. Only critisism is that the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Hehe, I was thinking the same thing. The pilot must fly via mind control :) Great ship though, and a nice, distinctive shape too. Adrian (URL) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: a perfect day for something new

Good stuff, Pat! I think the Calypso is especially groovy and really has a CS or PCS appeal. At first glance it has those cool, sci-fi kind of details and features that make one ask "Woah, what does that thing do?" It definitely looks like an (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) WOW - this is amazing! The unique shape, great colors and cool details (awesome landing gear!) makes this ship ROCK! I love all the SNOT work and the engine looks good too. There seem to be a lack on controls in the cockpit, though. Awesome. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

In lugnet.space, Patrick Bunn wrote: (snip) (...) Well, Pat, it looks like you hit the big time! Congrats! I really am impressed with the Calypso. You came up with a new take on things, and it's a good take! The slingshot drive is really neat for (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Disc Racer

(...) Wow, a unique take on a winged craft! This is a great looking ship, with one truly distinct shape. The landing gear is a nice touch, too, but the coolest thing is the open area around the cockpit. That's just cool! Pulling my jaw off the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: a perfect day for something new

Well, I'll just add my praise to everyone else's. I dig the Calypso. I think it looks like 1970 or 80s artist renderings of what future advanced spacecraft might look like. I also really did the huge engine clusters mounted towards the rear of the (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
