Re: PCS Gets a move on....

(...) Thank ya Paul, and yes, you're right. It's SW meets DP9 meets lego. The tying of the theme together has been really fun. I had the SPLANG, HOPLAB and PELiCAN all together on a table... it was neat to compare them together. I'm keepin' these (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: PCS Gets a move on....

(...) Ya, the Grand Admiral sketched me out a cool plan for the gear. I'll install those before fest. The big challenge is the balance on the craft. The aft is heavier than I planned. (...) Ya, I considered the plain panels. I swapped em out 2 or 3 (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: PCS Gets a move on....

(...) Platonic I hope.... Thanks for the compliments. Yes that ship was on the brain when I built it. I hope PCS will survive. I still enjoy buildin' the sub theme. Hope you folks are still likin' it. If not lemme know (Doesn't mean I'll stop). ;-) (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Asteroid Explorer

(...) I like rounded corners due to my engineering background. Unless your MOC's have a force field technology, your space ship is going to be a pressure vessel (albeit one with only one atmosphere difference), and the sharper the corner in a (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: PCS Gets a move on....

(...) Thanks. I have a good supply of white tiles, but it has taken a hit lately. The hatch leads to the cargo area and there's also (unphotographed) an airlock on the back. There was a purposeful attempt to make this look like a sister craft to the (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: PCS Gets a move on....

(...) Ya, no interior pics yet. I'm tryin to get this mass sort finished before I do any more buildin'/photoin'/ etc. That's why the Pelican is in 90% completeness stage and presented with half the pics. I wanted to go ahead and get it out and kinda (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: My new capital ships online at brickshelf

(...) these ships are incredible. A refreshing departure from the norm. They all have a nice organic feel to them. Can't wait to see more. -Duane (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

My new capital ships online at brickshelf

Hi, I have put some new pics of my capships on Brickshelf. I'd like to have some comments about them. (URL) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space) !

  Re: taking good photos

(...) Yeah, I'll second that. The GIMP rocks. John -- GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. (URL) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

  Re: taking good photos

(...) That's if he wants the very closest spot to be in perfect focus. :-) If he can shoot with a small aperture, then he should be able to get as close as 1.8 ft -- or closer. It all depends where in the model the lens is focused. Also, just (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) I don't think that's quite correct. If your CCD or CMOS chip has greater than 8 bits of depth on each spectral band (most do), then an on-camera digital zoom should contain more information than a post-processed zoom. For example, suppose you (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: A Promotion (several new MOCs)

(...) Really? Maybe the color scheme borrows from the Old Republic, but the shape looks much more B5-inspired. Something Narnish, like maybe their snubfighters. (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) The GIMP is totally free and I think it should be useable for this kind of thing. (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: A Promotion (several new MOCs)

(...) Thanks! (...) LOL! (...) Thanks again! (...) I like navy blue. Problem is, it's a very rare color. (...) Borrow away! :-) (...) Admiral Wells, T-SEC / THDC Division (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: A Promotion (several new MOCs)

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, it was built along the lines of the Jedi Starfighter, the coolest ship in SW, IMHO. (...) That would be cool. Maybe in Phoenix II! (...) LOL! :) (...) Thanks a lot! (...) Heck yes! Pick any color on the scale except red, (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: A Promotion (several new MOCs)

(...) Thanks! Zam Wessel's ship from Ep. II, perhaps? That ship and the Jedi Starfighter were the inspiration for the Phoenix I. (...) Thanks again! (...) Version II perhaps? I'm always redoing models. I prefer tanks with turrets too, but that was (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) Not that I'm aware of. Well, unless you want to use a trial version of regular software, but that will expire after a month, usually. (...) When I got my digital camera, I spent an entire Saturday and about 500 discarded shots figuring out (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)
