Re: I'd drop a pin, but it might be too much for our ears.

(...) I guess it would be a precurser of one of the large cargo ships, since this one is larger then the Galaxy Explorer. -JHK (URL) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Arrowhead

Very interesting shape. I like the big jaw-dropping feel of it. :) But it is well done- the color is great, and the use of tiles on the back makes for a cool effect. Wouldn't want to see a squad of these little guys out in space... -JHK (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: MOC Sparrow

Ooh, COOL. I like the shape fo this- very daggerlike. And the soft color sheme works well, too. The engines are also really well done. The only critisism I have is that it would be nice if you broke up some the wing stud area with greeblies or (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Anyone going to Brickfest?

I don't think there is an age limit- if you are under 18, you will have to have a parent accompany you. Jonathen Mizner attended Brickfest, and was around your age. His mom followed him in Brickfest. I myself am 13 in Florida, and there is no chance (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

Oh, wow. This is a masterpiece of utilitarian Lego. I just love the way you did the shape. It gives it the right feeling of a clunky but somehow elegent service vehicle. I love all the details, such as the thruster blocks and the arms, and the (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Anyone going to Brickfest?

Hey guys, Just wondering whos going to be at brickfest this year. I'm going to try to come, but I don't know what the age limit is, because I'm only 15.(like how old you have to be)I live close enough to Virginia (Tennessee), so I could get there. (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: PA004 -Open Atmosphere Suit- Scout Type

(...) Hi Keith, thanks for the complements. (...) Well, I mentioned what weapons it can carry on my post... I just have not taken pics of them yet because I made them after the fact. Because it is a scout, it uses limited weapons. This suit is not a (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Arrowhead

(...) It's dk. red and lt. grey actually. Thanks though for the compliment! -Stefan- (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Thanks Mark, It is amazing how big a difference just the selection of colours and even more the way that they are implemented can change a model's aesthetics completely. Keep on building, Zac (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Hi Andrew, The Mantaclaw started life as a concept of a utility vehicle that would have all of these arms unfold from its underbelly. The primary thruster area took a few attempts to get right. It was orininally quite crowded but I decided to (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Hi George, I'm glad you liked it. In my opinion a good MOC also needs a good backstory and descriptions to say exactly what the createor intended certain features to be - not all parts of a space model are always self descriptive :) I was (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Hi there, Chris, I'm quite flattered that you like it. The tools took a few goes to get right, however the thrusters took their current shape almost immediately. I suppose that's the beauty of a detailed sketch before construction :) Whilst (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Thanks Jeff, The mechanisms that you refer to are actualy just buffers on hydraulic stems to absorb shock when the vehicle is pushing large vessels. Perhaps some pilots could retrofit them with magnetic systems for latching... Thanks, Zac (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Cougar X-5

Actually, posability is limited to x- and y-axix movement. However, the thing can pose in the following positions: crouching, jumping, walking/running, Jump-Jetting, squishing cars. I especially like that last one! i was going to make the legs a (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Cougar X-5

hey, nice job on your mech! got the reversed knee going. i'm starting to become a bigger fan of that genre. really dig that quad cannon--it looks like it could take out a tank or two! nice use of the large radar dish for a shield, too. you should go (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Mecha: J-88 Firebrand

(...) Thanks! He may look better than the other LEGO's mini-mecha, but I doubt he's as sturdy as them. His head is only attached to his torso by a dark gray 1x1 round plate, and his torso is attached to his legs by another round plate. If I flick (...)   Re: New Mecha: J-88 Firebrand

(...) Hey, Thanks! How really freaky, but I'm studying the Aztec Culture right now :-O! The 'starburst' effect was purely by accident, I was just trying to thicken out the chest. Thanks again, Nathan Lord of the LEGO (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: MB Super Laser

ACPin's utterance expressed in news:HCu066.19wF@lugnet.com: (...) wow! great design! wouldn't want that one pointed at me :) It has a certain "computer-game"-look to it - like something from quake or halflife :) Leg godt og sjovt! (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Good balance of color, and very functional-looking. Well done. ~Grand Admiral (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

(...) Zac, This ship is really great: neat function and design! I like the detailed yet uncrowded engines and the panel above them. I too think the thruster packs are spiffy. Keep up the excellent work! ciao&salaam -Andrew (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)
