If you're interested in creating your own applications, take a look at:

There's both a paper describing the PC protocol in great depth
(http://troyda.sas.muohio.edu/paper2.html) and (best of all) an ActiveX
component (http://troyda.sas.muohio.edu/legosrc.zip) that you can compile
and use from Visual Basic.
