I bought one of those four years ago (long before Mindstorms). It's an
absolutely wonderful unit - considerably better than the RCX, Scout, etc.
The only downside is that it must be tethered to a PC (though you could buy
a wireless serial modem....). The software for it is considerably better
than that for the RCX. It's a regular text-based language and allows you to
build basic GUIs (a very useful feature). I highly recommend buying it. If
you don't get the software with it, you can buy a copy from Pitsco-Dacta. I
believe it's $30.
