Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

Ever since I picked up the 7471 Mars Rover a few months ago, I thought it
screamed out for an RCX modification. I saw a lot of discussion about the
possibility, but didn't find where anybody had actually successfully done it.

Now that BrickFest PDX 2004 is coming up, I'd love to incorporate an RCX and
program it to do some Stupid Rover Tricks during the con. My first instinct is
to see if any of the (far) more experienced builders have taken a crack and
gotten it to work, and if so, any instructions/steps? Or, if anyone's found it's
too much of a hassle to actually get it to work, that's good to know so I don't
waste time doing something futile. And if anybody has done it and is coming to
the con, it'd be a blast to have Spirit and Opportunity there as well, in LEGO
form. I'll even bring Sandy Moondust and Biff Starling.

This is about as timely as it gets, but of course there's the time constraints.
Thanks for any insight into this!
