Well, I guess I am one of the two :) Its nice to know I am on the cutting
edge of things. Actually I am probably one of the few BrickOS users that is
too dumb or impatient to deal with cygwin or unix.

Currently BricxCC requires that the cygwin bin directory (normally
c:\cygwin\bin) be on the environment PATH.  Is that a problem for potential
users?  It seems okay to me, but I'm interested in your opinions.

Seems fine to me. I think all we need is a well laid out set of instructions
for installing BrickOS and getting it to work with BrickCC. I did it by
scouring the information from this newsgroup, but it was kind of scattered.

Compiler warnings throw BricxCC for a loop at the moment.  It handles GNU
compiler errors fairly well.  NQC and the LASM compiler do not output
warnings.  I've toyed with adding CFLAGS += -w to the makefile template in
BricxCC to turn off compiler warnings.  Obviously, the best solution would
be to handle whatever the compiler spits out in an intelligent manner.  Turn
off warnings or spend the time to make BricxCC handle warnings correctly,
what do you think?

I find the compiler warnings to be very helpful. They often tell me exactly
what my dumb mistake was.

Has anyone tried the Project Manager (multi-file compilation) feature yet?
I'd like to know if it meets the needs of users out there who have
multi-file brickOS programs.

Nope. I'm not even sure how it works. Is that like writing your own header
files or something?

I'd like to hear from BricxCC users what they think of code completion
(Ctrl+Space) and parameter completion (Shift+Ctrl+Space) support as well as
the new Procedure List (Shift+Ctrl+G).

I have seen it, but haven't tried it yet.

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Well, I will say it again that I think BricxCC is an amazing program. I
loved using it with NQC, and now it makes BrickOS much less painful to use
:) You have done a great job at maintaining the program and continually
adding new features. I guess when BricxCC gets more tightly integated with
BrickOS, then all that would be required is documentation in the help file.
I suppose this is no small task though :(

So far I have heard from two people who have successfully used brickOS with BricxCC. I'm interested in whether anyone else has tried using BricxCC to edit/compile/download programs to brickOS. Currently BricxCC requires that the cygwin bin directory (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
