My mother-in-law runs a toy store chain, and she got a stock-balancing note
from TLC requesting the old 1.5 kits back. It stated that the 2.0 kits will be
out in Q1 of 2001. No mention of upgrade kits.
I suspect that the component bags WILL be salvaged for 2.0 kit production. I
don't know enough about the internal differences between the 1.5 RCX and the
2.0 RCX to say whether or not those will be reused or just given to service
or Pitsco Dacta. I guess we'll find out when the word comes down as to whether
or not there will be a 1.5 to 2.0 upgrade kit. I suspect there will be, but
that it might involve sending the old 1.5 (or 1.0) RCX in.

| (...) The difference in parts seems to be minor, look here: (URL) of course the RCX 1.5 doesn't have a power adaptor, so they won't be able to recycle them.
