  Batteries...
 
Quick questo, which no doubt has been answered time and time again, is it possible to use rechargable batteries in the RCX1.5 ? As I tried and it turned on, went mad then turned off again, so I didn't bother again, but I just read a message where (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Use rechargeable _Alkaline_. I initially got 12 batteries and a charger for ~UKP20 (-US30). My batteries spend about 5% of there their in my RCX, the rest of the time the power my kids toys... esp her Duplo trains. Such is life Scott A (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Yes, it's possible. You get less voltage with NiCads, so the motors don't turn as fast as they do with brand-new alkalines. Plus they don't last as long. However, they're so much cheaper to run!
