  FW: Another Challenge. Performance Comparison

Dick, 2 questions: 1) Regarding the benchmark code used for performance analysis. How about something which will require intense sensor feedback? How about simple alignment code? I really want to stick with RCX for teaching as kids have to do a lot (...) (18 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Comparing software

I get a lot of people asking what the "best" software is for the NXT. Of course, this is a complex question that depends on the user, and intended goal of the program. So, for the last several days, members of the Mindstorms Community Partners (MCP) (...) (18 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.nxt, lugnet.robotics)

Re: NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

(...) I have no idea what you are talking about Steve. My page was not copied from yours. The information on my page was gathered completely independently. And it doesn't contain any subjective and biased information. I started on the project as (...) (18 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

(...) That's a very nice page, John. I'm glad you at least went through the trouble of changing the background, before you claimed the work as your own, and posted it. Here's the page I've been working on for several days, before John copied it. (...) (18 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

(...) I went ahead and put together a programming tools comparison chart that attempts to leave out any subjective information. It covers only the NXT and not previous generations of LEGO MINDSTORMS products. (URL) Hansen (18 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

(...) Elizabeth, It may be very useful to create a table, with columns for these different programming environments, and then you could have rows for all the features. That would make it easy for people to help you fill in the blanks. You may want (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

(...) The NQC solution supports all LEGO programable bricks from the CyberMaster to the Spybot, including the RCX. The Scout, RCX, and Spybot platforms supports event monitoring (for the RCX this requires the 2.0 firmware). If you obtain NQC by (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

NQC vs. NXC vs. MS-VC vs. RobotC

| |I downloaded RobotC from CMU - www-education.rec.ri.cmu.edu. It does |have a great long term potential. It does not have the capability to do |a lot of more advanced stuff though, such as events/interrupt. | |I'd like to compare 3 software in (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Mindstorms fabrication/manufacturing line...

(...) That machine is ingenious. I like the way he has his RCX bricks communicating by traveling along with the assembly line. I also like the frame he made to hold the wheels while the body was pushed onto them. Brilliant. (...) This reply is (...)   Re: Would this work?

(...) It was only ever really a theoretical project. And then I'd have to come up with a way of connecting possibly nine sensors. If you could control both the positive side and the negative side of the rcx connection you could multiplex 9 outputs (...) (18 years ago, 26-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Would this work?

(...) Steve, I don't think connecting the two RCXs through power adaptors will work. I'm not sure the details, but I think the rectifiers in the RCXs will cause problems. To get a common ground, I *THINK* you could connect the negative side of the (...) (18 years ago, 26-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Would this work?

I've spotted a slight flaw, fixed in this version. I've added 9 1x2 connector plates. (URL) (18 years ago, 26-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Would this work?

I've wanted for a while now to utilise the particular characteristics of the 2x2 Lego plate connectors. To that end I've built an all Lego multiplexer. (URL) I'm wondering now will it actually work? The yellow connectors are the positive inputs, the (...) (18 years ago, 26-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Re: BricxCC ver 3.3.7.15 templates dont appear

(...) I've looked further into this problem and the answer is in the notes on the sourceforge site. This states that there is a problem and that template.txt has to be changed to 007_templates.txt. Installing this on another machine worked fist (...) (18 years ago, 20-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: BricxCC ver 3.3.7.15 templates dont appear

(...) Thanks for the reply. I tried as you suggested but no success. I then went to the default folder opened template.txt, in notepad, then copied all its contents and pasted it into the box opened above. This seems to have worked. David Liddell (18 years ago, 20-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: BricxCC ver 3.3.7.15 templates dont appear

(...) Hi David, I got them to show by going to edit / preferences / templates, and clicking the "default" button. I don't know if this is the "official" way but it worked for me :) ROSCO (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

BricxCC ver 3.3.7.15 templates dont appear

I've just downloaded and installed BricxCC v 3.3.7.15 which appears ok but the template window is empty. How can I sort this please I using a Pentium 4 socket 478, XPpro. David Liddell (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX2 Sensor Mux/Demux.

Bob, Steve, Thanks for helping me out! I will try to combine 1 touch sensor and 1 rotation sensor each, since the touch sensor will be used eventually and rotation sensor will be used continuously. Best regards, Atul. (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX2 Sensor Mux/Demux.

(...) Atul, This is a really good combination of sensors to try to MUX. Depending on what sensors can be exclusive, you should be able to do this without any additional hardware. You can connect a light sensor to one port, and also connect a touch (...) (18 years ago, 8-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
