OK, I've now mirrored the two (apparently) necessary files for LegOS
under windows at this URL:

http://arthurdent.dorm.duke.edu/legos/archives/windows/

For those of you in the US, this should provide a faster download of
Gavin's stuff (though not necessarily by much, since Gavin's site is
surprisingly fast for a transatlantic one.)

However, the files by themselves are probably not very usable for most
people. Phil has already volunteered to write up a set of instructions for
their use, and I will happily incorporate them into my HOWTO or post them
separately (with the files) when I get them. If anyone else would like to
take a crack at it (either by clarifying Gavin's instructions for those
who are unfamiliar with Cygwin or by starting from scratch) I extend the
same offer.

Good luck to all you windows users-
Luis

P.S. It's never to late to switch to Linux... :)

P.P.S. I've added some updates to the HOWTO, including a fix of the
build instructions, and a brief synopsis of the rotation sensors. Take a
look...

Luis, here's a forwarded message with the links to Gavin's executables.
You need to download the latest Cygwin  distribution too, from

<http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/>

Thanks for whoever posted the pre-compiled GNU cross compiler for
Winblows OS.

Unfortunately, I misplaced the link and my previous downloading attempt
failed.  Could someone repost the ftp address/URL for these files?

Alternatively, have a look at http://www.beesknees.freeserve.co.uk/lego/
where I've done a similar but lazier job of just providing an add-on lump to
Cygwin (ie, you need Cygwin first). I have to confess I haven't looked at
Dave's, but I guess we're doing the same sort of thing.
