Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) 1) I'm not sure these are currently available 2) They only give you independent control of two motors per RCX output (but you can connect motors together) 3) They won't work with the 8366 motors (they were designed before those were available) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) John Barnes (HiTechnic) has available a motor amplifier which draws it's power from an external source, and can control 4 motors from 1 RCX ouptut. I haven't tried one, but you might find it helpful: (URL) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) What does this mean in electrical novice terms? What is an auto-coupler? Is it possible to modify the reciever/power unit to interface with the RCX? ie maybe add an inferred recuever to interpret commands from the rcx to power the motors (...)   Re: laser distance sensor

(...) Who said you had to actually use laser? :) Google for "electronic tape measure" to see what I'm talking about (they really use sonar, with a laser pointer to show where the device is reading from). Home Depot has one for $29. Now, the biggest (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: laser distance sensor

(...) This is an interesting subject and one which generates some interest every so often. The conventional assumption would be that you are talking about LIDAR. The thing is, even if simple plans where available, would you be able to use them to (...) (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Multi-RCX Communication

I see a lot being done with communication between 2 RCX units. I was wondering if anybody had done anything with RCX communication with more than just 2 RCX. (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  laser distance sensor

Hi I'd like to build a laser distance sensor for my mindstorms robot. Does anyone know if any plans of circuits of such sensors exists? Andreas (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: RIS 2.0 upgrade CD? (part 3805)

(...) What are the differences between 1.0 and 2.0 firmware? I prefer VB to the supplied software anyway, so that makes no difference. Mark (20 years ago, 3-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Re: OS X Complier problems solved--now struggling with BrickOS

(...) I have reached the same stage as Rich had about a year ago: demos behave exactly as above. I couldn't find any further follow-up of this thread - I would appreciate any hints where should I look for ideas. I use cross-compiler and (...) (20 years ago, 3-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: RIS 2.0 upgrade CD? (part 3805)

The Mindstorms SDK 2.5 is still available, which includes the 2.0 firmware. If you don't want the actual 2.0 version of the graphical programming software then this should be all you need. (URL) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)
