  BricxCC announcement

BricxCC is a lot of fun to support - fixing bugs, adding useful new features, and answering lots of questions via email. I hope to be able to continue working with BricxCC for a very long time to come. But it does take time. And software development (...)   Accurate Timing

Hello! I just started using brickOS and am trying to use it as a programmable function generator. As such, I'm trying to get good repeatability on cycle time. It appears that at 'random' times, the RCX scheduler(?) is interrupting my program to do (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: constant green light

(...) That's interesting. On my new XP eMachine PC we have noticed that when we shutdown (and it powers off the PC) that we have to switch the power switch on the power strip that our computer plugs into or it will sometimes hold our phone line open (...)   Re: constant green light

(...) I had the opposite problem. It worked fine, but whenever I powered off my system the green light came on and stayed on. (2 URLs) I never did figure out the problem. Now I have a USB tower, and that works fine (plus no batteries needed). Brian (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: constant green light

(...) As yet, me, re my Serial/IR Tower Green LED being stuck On, I know very little coherent & new. a) I did try searching for the word "green" in: (URL) results seemingly confirm that "everyone knows" the green LED should light only when used. b) (...)   Re: constant green light

(...) Any word on whether you have discovered that the power management settings of the OS have any effect on the geen light situation? I haven't had a chance to play with my serial tower on my XP desktop PC yet. John Hansen (22 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Plz can someone help me understand an error code in my RCX?

Hi Gabriel, your program hit an exception. The code is explained very briefly at the beginning of the README: -- Exceptions: Use lejos -verbose. Exceptions are shown in the RCX as [XXXX Y], where XXXX = method_signature, and Y = (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Plz can someone help me understand an error code in my RCX?

Hi everyone, I’m a new Lego Mindstorms user and I’m starting with leJOS version 2.1.1 and a j2SDK 1.4.1 platform. I have already made a simple line follower robot with only 1 light sensor. The code was really simple and I use a listener to make it (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: desperate: USB tower and XP

I doubt that this is the cause of your problems, but the first XP version had very flimsy drivers for some motherboards USB host controllers. Maybe a Windows Update or similar might help ? Philo www.philohome.com (...) (22 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
