no, it should be just as bright.

make sure you use the special low-current HLMP LEDs as specified.
normal LEDs won't work right.

   Is it normal for the i/c board  PWR led to not glow too
intensely?...cause my PWR led is not glowing that brightly compared to my
serial led. Before my PWR led did not glow at all until i resoldered some
joints that look like it needed more solder.
