12v is fine. you could up go to 18v or so w/o problems.
you might not even need to change the adapter. if the yellow charge
LEDs light, then the batt is charging ok. it will be slower than the
original pack but maybe that is not a problem for you.
if you don't get the charge LEDs to light, move up to a 15v adapter.
