All I know is I lost all functionality, i.e. program no longer ran. I
poked for the problem, found I had 5V, and then found Ray Butt's Tcomp. I
just opted for the easiest solution. It was a natural evolution for me,
because I needed to be 'E1 based so I could get 4 IC's and 4 OC's. The A1
gives 3 IC's and 5 OC's, or something like that, and the HB uses a few of
those. I also can use the HB's pullup headers for discrete sensors.
The SBasic/ASMHC11/PCbug programming environment isn't as friendly as IC,
but with a few macros it can be as easy. My IC programs converted to
SBasic with little trouble, mostly global edit changes in Word.

I also had external circuitry with some cmos logic (inverters) and they were fine too so I imagine the latches (...) (27 years ago, 5-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
