I had troubles with the V2X within 2 inches of some small hobby
motors. Lotsa magnet there, but larger motors have more magnet. The
calibration is supposed to adjust for "hard iron" disturbances, so
just having it bolted to your robot with steel screws should be ok, as
well as near ferrous metal brackets and stuff.
Aluminium should be no problem, as well as most other non-ferrous
substances. That said, I suppose you have to watch your wiring, like
not running high current wires right next to it. Transformers, and
other inductors would probably be a problem also.
