Hmmm. What voltage and/or LEDs are you using? Assuming 5V,
your LEDs age passing only around half a milliamp of current. I am
using a 100ma LED and I can only get less than a foot of detection.
Am I missing something here?

| (...) Those are the IR LED's - the one's that transmit the IR light that the receiver sees. Also, while I'm at it, I found out that the diagram above isn't completely accurate (I drew it from memory). The circuit I really use is like this: (...)
