I got the following at JDR ( http://www.jdr.com/JDR ):
HM62256LP-10 $4.69
DS1233 $1.79
MAX232CPE $1.89
I got what I hope is a good substitute for the IS1U60 at Radio Shack, it is
their p/n 276-137 and was discussed in the book "Mobile Robots" in similar
use. You can get a data sheet from their web site ( http://www.radioshack.com/ )
The L293D motors drivers are quite difficult to find.
I did find them (, and the more powerful TI replacement SN754410 at Allied Electronics
( http://www.allied.avnet.com/ ) Beware Allied has a $50 minimum order.
