I am in the process of building a Handy Board and I have just completed assembly step 4.4. When I try to download using hbdl, I get the following error message "wrong port or boot mode". Hi Todd, You don't need the expansion board to connect the Polaroid transducer to the Handy Board. In fact, Kent Farnsworth has code to show exactly how to do it. I am trying to find the easiest way to connect sonar to the handy board. I already have the polaroid soanr units but have no idea how to hook them up to the handy board. I am having difficulty using the Encoders.c routine for the handyboard. I have written some code that continually reads the encoder (port 0) and writes it to the LCD, then waits 30 [ms] so that the value is readable. I called this code testsens.c (...) Does anyone know where to buy the electronics that are used to make security system IR/motion detectors? The complete wireless modules cost about $50, I was wondering if they could be bought without the transmitter and if these would be easy to (...) I am trying to get the handyboard to communicate with a standard COM port. I have Randy Sargent's code of how to communicate serially, however, a terminal program cannot find the handyboard (I get a "Cannot open COM Port" error). I think that there (...) Along similar lines, I've been searching for a web site I saw once. It features a basic stamp or PIC controlled LCD terminal, to be directly connected to a serial line. Accessing the Borenstein thing seems to be a problem quite a few are having. I got a few messages questioning how I eventually got in.
