  IC doesn't work on 8086/8088

Since the freeware version of IC (2.8x) was running into the 640K limit, I compiled for 286 and higher to reduce code size, assuming not too many folks still had 8086 machines. This is the problem you're running into -- sorry. -- Randy (28 years ago, 23-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Running IC on an old PC

Hi, I thought I was smart, salvaging an old (read, "real old") PC to use as a "base station" for programming the HB. It is a 8088-PC original (well, a clone). Has the required port etc, and even a 720/3.5 disk drive, which is semi-compatible with my (...) (28 years ago, 22-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Traffic

I agree with the sentiment, don't know what to do about it. There is a pretty big PIC vs. HC11 rift as well. One would think one could separate low-level sensor and mechanical matters from higher level programming and other computer-specific stuff. (...)   Re: compiler eror...

Hi Sriram, I don't know if this is correct, but I remember reading (?hearing?) something about there being a limit to the number of consecutive if-then-else constructs. For some reason the numbers four and seven come to mind. I may be way off, but (...) (28 years ago, 21-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
