for RF communications, I recommend Linx Technologies (URL) They sell seperate transmitters, receivers, and antennas. The original IC and pcode was originally written on a Unix machine. There are scripts and a makefile that simplify the compile procedure. I use a Linux PC to modify the pcode all the time. There is an article in DDJ on the WOOKIE 68HC11 emulator in Mar 99... There are files in www.msoe.edu/eecs/ce.../resources including GNUs gcc C compiler with a back end for 68HC11..
