You could use the effect of gravity force and a potentiometer (variable resistant) to create such thing. In fact if you use a joystick mechanism (or quadraphonic double-potentiometer volume control in the old day) in upside down position and have a (...) Does anyboady have experience using German Made Geared DC Motors made by : FAULHABER. 12V/ 22b40.5 Motors have been salvaged from an old 'Plasmon' Optical-disk-Jukebox I have several of these identical motors that i want to use as main traction (...) Don't know if home brew is OK for your needs but I found a little while back, a website that had several different homebrew sensors described and a single axis inclinometer was one. try using +robot +inclinometer in the Altavista search engine.
