(...) Yes, you need to use a serial card inside your computer that offers add'l com ports. It isn't clear from your message if that is what you have. If so, the trick you are missing is that multiple com ports cannot share the same IRQ. Most or all (...) (28 years ago, 23-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

There is away around this. Configure your com ports to use a different IRQ. Typically the second parallel port IRQ (5) is available. If neither your modem nor your com ports will do this then you will need to buy a new com port board that has (...) (28 years ago, 23-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
