  Re: New motor drivers

Keith, How much current do your motors require. The SN754410 offers 1A per channel. If your piggy back them you can increase this to 2A/channel. Let me know. (...) (28 years ago, 20-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: External power for motors

Phil, Let me tell you that when someone made the same suggestion to me I hade to reconsider the demolition of my beautiful (expensive!) HB. My solution is this.... Simple take up pin 8 of the driver chip (SN754410) and wire it so that it may be (...) (28 years ago, 20-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Sonar and the handyboard

Keith, On the ftp site under ???/contrib/kent/sonar there should be a file called sonartst.c This file tests the unit goven that you've included sonar.icb in the initial loading of library files. The file simply calls the ping(0) routine then waits (...) (28 years ago, 20-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: New motor drivers

The 18200 requires 12V motors, is that what you have? I ask because they are fairly unusual in small bots. --Chuck (28 years ago, 20-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  New motor drivers

Does anyone know an easy way to replace the motor drivers on the handyboard with the 18200 chip from National Semiconductor? The motors I am going to be driving need more current that the old ones can put out so I need to upgrade. I know that they (...) (28 years ago, 20-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Motorola Microprocessor source

(...) Most Connor disk drives have a 68HC11A1FN on them. If you find someone throwing one away, it is a cheap HC11. (...) Digi-key sells these. (...) Ben Wirz sells these. Also look for the TI replacement possibly. (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Hall Sensor

Hi, Does anyone have recent model #'s, part #'s, or suppliers for Hall Effect magnetic sensors that interface directly with the Handy Board. There is a picture of a Hall sensor on page 52 of the Handy Board Technical Reference, but no part number or (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  re: ztx614

(...) I just looked back to the IR transmitter schematic... The 1K res + RED LED you see there is for the only purpose of having a visible feedback of IR transmission. The IR Led and it's limiting resistor (if the case) will be connected in series (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
