I just sucessfully finished putting together the handyboard and will say that if one takes their time and is careful-there shoould be no problems. One observation/question. I notice that with the battery installed, the "heartbeat" character on the (...) (28 years ago, 1-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
 
  Reducing Battery Pack Voltage
 
Hi Fred I am attemping to run two low voltage DC motors (as motors 0 and 1), around 3V each(I don't have specs). I have piggybacked two of the motor driver chips (and maybe adding a third) to handle the higher current but they are still getting (...) (28 years ago, 1-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I think I might have wrote something wrong before. I said that you can use an external battery of 3V. I take it back. Sorry... I didn't realise that it would only work for 6 volts to 36 volts. U can use an external battery with the HB. It can be 3V. Check the FAQ in the HB HP.
