  laser diodes

Hi, Has anyone tried using laser diodes for detecting objects? I would be interested in finding out how they were connected and how they are read by the controller board. I am also interested in finding out what would be best. I have been looking at (...) (28 years ago, 11-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR relectance Sensors

(...) There may be a miscommunication here. There are IR Reflectance sensors, that are designed to note notches and bar codes and such, which have a sensing distance measured in millimeters, and there are IR receiver modules that were originally (...) In your message you said: (...) en bounce the IR off walls. yes, but the tv remote technology includes automatic gain circuits, so you have no way of telling HOW FAR AWAY the original signal source is.   Re: ir obstacle detector

Is this because you used a "bright" IR led? Or perhaps the frequency is high, thus higher energy EM radiation? (...) (28 years ago, 10-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: ir obstacle detector

(...) Why is the distance do short? You can use a remote control for a TV or someting from really far away and even bounce the IR off walls. Doesn't that mean that you can do the same for a sensor? Or is it that the current generation of (...) (28 years ago, 10-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
